Sagre
An Italian sagra (plural = sagre) is a local food festival, often dedicated to the patron saint of the area. Every region, every town, and every village in Italy has its own unique, local sagra - often several a year. Each sagra is dedicated to a specific food or dish that is typical of the area, such as truffles, chestnuts. wild boar, homemade pasta, artichoke, risotto - the list is endless. Italy would not be Italy without its sagre - and you're always invited!
